Our Policies

*Dr. Wells does not contract with any Insurance Providers.  Her practice is considered "out of network".   You can however, pursue reimbursement directly from your insurer.

You can request information regarding "out of network" behavioral health benefits from your insurance provider.  We can provide a Health Claim Form with the necessary claim information to submit to your Insurance Provider.

Appointments

Following a brief phone conversation, initial appointment is scheduled for 75 mins. If ongoing treatment is agreed upon, follow up appointments with be scheduled for medication checks  (30 Mins), psychotherapy sessions with or without medication management (50-60 mins).


If new medications are started, Dr. Wells, prefers close monitoring and will schedule a follow up visit in 2 weeks. This is done to ensure medications are being taken as prescribed, assessment for side effects and to make dosage adjustments as necessary, to achieve optimal results. Subsequent visits may be in 30 day intervals. If Dr. Wells considers that you are stable on medications she may schedule you at 3 month intervals. 


Privacy and Confidentiality

Utmost care is taken that information about you remains absolutely confidential and private. The bond of trust between physician and patient is vital to the therapeutic process.


If it is deemed that sharing information with someone else who is beneficial to your care, a written consent is obtained from you, after it is fully discussed and agreed. These individuals may include your primary therapist if you have one, your primary care physician or family members. There are rare circumstances where Federal and State laws may require Dr. Wells to release information about you without your authorization.


Such situations include:

There is reason to believe you may pose an imminent danger to yourself or others.

There is reason to believe that abuse or neglect of a child, elder, dependent or disabled person is taking place.

Payment of Fees

Payment is due in full on the day of service, in the form of cash, check or credit card payment.

Appointments and Cancellations

Please call the office number at 410-253-2774 to schedule appointments.

The appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you fail to cancel or do not show up you will be charged for the session. To avoid such fee please cancel a scheduled appointment 24 hours in advance.


Emergency or Urgent Situations

If you are an existing patient and experience an emergency situation, please call Dr. Wells at the office number. If you do not hear back within reasonable time, please call 911 or proceed to the Emergency Room of the nearest hospital. Once there have the physician in charge of your case call Dr. Wells.


Medication Refills

Please be assured that you will be provided with sufficient medications or refills to last you until your next appointment. In order to continue medications, regular follow up appointments are required to assess progress, check lab results, side effects and make adjustments accordingly. In the unlikely event of running out of medications prior to your scheduled appointment, please leave a message at the office. Please be aware that controlled substances such as stimulant medications or benzodiazepines cannot be called in or faxed and require a physical prescription.


Fees

     •     Initial Comprehensive Evaluation Session - 75 minutes, $400

     •     Subsequent Evaluation session if needed - 50 minutes, $200

     •     Medication Management  - 30 minutes, $185

     •     Follow up consultation - 60 minutes, $230

     •     Follow up consultation - 50 minutes, $200

     •     Consultation and Second Opinion - 75 minutes, $400
